Hello World! My name is Nick, I’m a 25 year old American and this is actually my first blog ever… so that’s always fun and exciting lol.
Actually, the point of my blog is to document my journey back to Japan in hopes of fulfilling a few of my dreams; namely, making a living in Japan while starting my own business. Tough, I know. I did not choose the easy road, that’s for sure.
The business I’m hoping to officially launch by the end of the year is an entertainment/event hosting company. A buddy of mine I met a few years ago has already started putting some stuff together, and after a good year of talking back and forth between Osaka and Chicago (where I was living), I finally decided to take the plunge and come back. It’s exciting, scary, emotional and energizing all at the same time!
Taking anything from a casual, “this is fun, and I’m making some side cash!” to a legitimate business is always tough. There is so much to do and decide on that it kind of feels overwhelming, especially when trying to make sure bills are paid and food is on the table. But I feel pretty confident.
We are both “Omoroi Osaka” and “Osaka Sports,” and our company (or, more accurately, our organization) is split into 3 divisions: Language Exchange, Social Events and Sports. My partner has been working exceptionally hard to promote our sports sector, and now we have an sporting event almost every day (such as badminton, volleyball, basketball, etc.). He’s also been working hard to promote one or two events a month in the other divisions as well. Now that I’m here, I’m hoping to take over the language sector and we both work to promote the large, 100+ person social galas. As well as build the backbone of the organization and begin our website and design.
Needless to say, it’s been non-stop busy since I arrived on 5/19.
Please come check us out! We are currently using Meetup and Facebook; the links are below:

We’re always looking to improve and continue to not only grow and enhance our foundation, but to continue to provide a great, affordable experience for people to meet new friends and create new memories. Let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions!
I think that’s it for now- feel free to give us a visit and follow us for the events to come! It’ll definitely be a great time. 🙂
Bye for now!
